Ingredients
- 8 oz Spaghetti
- 1/2 cup Pasta Water (more as needed)
- 4 tablespoon Salted Butter (divided)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoon White Miso
- Japanese Chili Oil (or chili oil of choice)
- Furikake Seasoning
- Green Onion (thinly sliced (dark green top portion)
- Soft-Boiled Egg (sliced in half )
Instructions
- Cook the pasta to al dente according to the package instructions. Before draining, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and set it aside.
- Meanwhile, in a large pan, melt 2 tablespoons of salted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently until fragrant.
- Stir in the miso paste and cook for 2 more minutes, allowing it to slightly caramelize. Pour in about ½ cup of reserved pasta water, stirring to dissolve the miso and create a smooth sauce.
- Add 2 more tablespoons of cold salted butter, stirring until melted. Then, add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. If needed, add another splash of pasta water to help the sauce evenly coat the noodles.
- Divide among bowls and serve immediately. Garnish with Japanese chili oil, Furikake seasoning, green onions, and a soft-boiled egg as desired.
