Ingredients
- 500 g minced beef
- 1 onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 g feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 4 pita breads
- Olive oil for cooking
- 200 g Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the minced beef, grated onion, minced garlic, crumbled feta cheese, allspice, cumin, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Shape the mixture into long, cylindrical kofta skewers. Aim for a size that fits well inside the pita bread.
- Heat a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the kofta skewers into the hot skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
- While the kofta is cooking, prepare the yogurt dip. In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir well.
- Warm the pita breads slightly. You can do this by toasting them briefly in a dry pan or in the oven.
- Once the kofta is cooked, remove it from the skillet.
- To serve, cut the pita breads in half. Stuff each pita half with a kofta skewer.
- Serve immediately with the yogurt dip on the side.
- Enjoy!
