Ingredients
- 1 litre Milk
- 1/3 cup Sugar, 80g
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
- Pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- Add 2 tbsp water to a heavy bottomed pan.
- Add 1 litre of milk to the pan.
- Boil the milk on high flame, stirring continuously.
- Once the milk starts to boil, reduce the flame to medium and continue to cook.
- Add 1/3 cup (80g) sugar to the milk and mix well.
- Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the milk thickens to a mawa-like consistency. This will take about 15-20 minutes.
- Add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder and 1 tbsp ghee to the mixture.
- Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
- Let the mixture cool down slightly, then transfer it to a plate and let it cool completely.
- Once cooled, knead the mixture and shape it into small pedas.
- Garnish with chopped pistachios.
- Store in an airtight container and enjoy.
