  1. Add 2 tbsp water to a heavy bottomed pan.
  2. Add 1 litre of milk to the pan.
  3. Boil the milk on high flame, stirring continuously.
  4. Once the milk starts to boil, reduce the flame to medium and continue to cook.
  5. Add 1/3 cup (80g) sugar to the milk and mix well.
  6. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the milk thickens to a mawa-like consistency. This will take about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder and 1 tbsp ghee to the mixture.
  8. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  9. Let the mixture cool down slightly, then transfer it to a plate and let it cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, knead the mixture and shape it into small pedas.
  11. Garnish with chopped pistachios.
  12. Store in an airtight container and enjoy.
