Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup water
- Hamburger buns
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and green bell pepper over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef until it is crumbled and cooked through. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and celery seed.
- Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and water. Stir to combine.
- Pour the beef mixture into a slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1 to 1.5 hours, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded.
- Serve the sloppy joes on hamburger buns.
- Optional: Top with cheese, pickles, or onions if desired.
